Nuking down enemies quickly in order to not overextend yourself in battle and drain your resources isn't much of an issue. That said, I don't find the ability to nuke enemies down quickly all that useful because of how overall easy this game is compared to other version of FF1. Black Mage is good for nuking giant mobs of enemies because his intelligence is much higher than Red Mage who will have trouble nuking enemies with even similar spells in comparison.
